A lot of times I realize I'm shoving in crackers just because I'm bored, and it has nothing to do with hunger at all!

Queen of Arts, thank you for the book recommendation; I will check out Wick's work. I look forward to hearing from you after you read Rubin's book, too!

Caatje, that's funny about living in the country leading you to the complete opposite perspective on eating meat! I can see it working both ways.Andriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15504062428517837765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5400765619482940144.post-2776050807262239122011-09-15T06:41:36.906-04:002011-09-15T06:41:36.906-04:00I love how you keep us posted on your own happines...I love how you keep us posted on your own happiness project and how it's working for you. I had to smile about that meat eating thing and the woman who got more thoughtful about eating meat by moving to the country. I was born in the country on a farm and for me it is the opposite. It has made me a lot less oversensitive to eating meat than some people I know. ;-)Carin Winkelmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11201476346043631398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5400765619482940144.post-63183325225581100032011-09-14T09:55:43.558-04:002011-09-14T09:55:43.558-04:00I am new to your site, and after reading the post ...I am new to your site, and after reading the post put The Happiness Project on reserve at the library. It is similar to the mindfulness that I have been trying to "grow" this summer -- a real challenge, but terrifically rewarding when I follow the path. I've been reading Robert Wick's book about prayerful living. Perhaps you, too, would enjoy it. I am excited to follow your posts as you begin your own Happiness Project. I actually spent the summer reading over and taking notes on all of Gretchen's posts starting from the beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot about myself as well. Enjoy the journey.Sharihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15747056618685346555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5400765619482940144.post-4016186410947283892011-09-13T15:20:47.376-04:002011-09-13T15:20:47.376-04:00I enjoyed reading this post.... especially the par...I enjoyed reading this post.... especially the part about eating. I'm a vegetarian although I do occasionally eat some fish. Long a go when I began "thinking" about what I was doing while eating meat, it no longer appealed to me.

Good for you for keeping up with your plan.Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10084823218319628822noreply@blogger.com
